Triple recognition for global excellence awarded to Mapúa MCL

This 2024, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (Mapúa MCL) continues to make its way to the forefront of the global movement towards sustainability, innovation, and excellence. With a series of impressive achievements in the international education landscape, Mapúa MCL strives to elevate education, both locally and worldwide.
Out of 2,152 universities from 125 countries globally, Mapúa MCL placed within the 1501+ range in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking (THE) 2024. Through THE’s carefully adjusted indicators to assess universities’ commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Mapúa MCL was highlighted for its strong performance in SDGs 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 5 (Gender Equality), 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Further solidifying its dedication to excellence, Mapúa MCL has again been rated as a 3-star institution by the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Rating System for 2024. Along with this rating, they received 5 QS Stars in three distinct categories: Employability, Online Learning, and Social Responsibility. A 3-star rating signifies excellence across various areas, including quality teaching, employability, research, and innovative teaching methods.
This June 2024, Mapúa MCL’s dedication to fostering innovation is recognized in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI). Mapúa MCL secured the 84th rank in Leadership and the 91st rank in Student Support and Engagement, out of more than 1000 institutions assessed. The WURI uses 13 categories to comprehensively measure higher education institutions’ real contributions to industry and society, emphasizing innovative education, research, and social engagement.
Previously, Mapúa MCL was recognized for its remarkable efforts as CALABARZON’s 1st ISO 21001:2018 – EOMS Certified School, meaning Mapúa MCL’s Educational Organizations Management System, with the integration of its program offerings, is certified compliant with the latest version of ISO 21001:2018 – proof that the institution has built an effective framework to always keep the students’ best interests in mind.
Mapúa MCL students from the B.S. Architecture program also made history by becoming the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associates accredited by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) in Southeast Asia, where Mapúa MCL is the first and only current USGBC Gold Member. The institution has underscored its dedication to producing future leaders who are well-versed in sustainable and environmentally conscious approaches to construction and design.
