Sowing Seeds of Sustainability: CCIS Tree Growing Activity for ASEAN Month 2025

Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna’s (Mapúa MCL) College of Computer and Information Science (CCIS), in collaboration with the Office for Strategic Partnerships and Global Engagement (OSPGE), the Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement (CSCE), Mapúa Malayan Kalikasan (MapKal), and Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Sta. Cruz, held a Tree Growing Activity in Cavinti, Laguna on August 8, 2025, as part of the ASEAN Month 2025 celebration.

The activity brought together students and faculty in a meaningful display of collective action. Beyond planting trees, it became an opportunity to strengthen relationships among participants, foster teamwork, and deepen awareness of how shared efforts can create lasting positive change. The initiative highlighted how service-learning and community engagement empower individuals to go beyond the classroom and actively contribute to causes that matter for society and the environment.
