Mapúa MCL partners with Malaysia’s Sunway University

A collaboration meeting between Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (Mapúa MCL) and Malaysia’s Sunway University was held on June 26, 2025 to explore opportunities for academic partnerships, research collaboration, and innovation initiatives.  

Dr. Sian Lun Lau, Professor from the Department of Smart Computing and Cyber Resilience (DSCCR), School of Computing and Artificial Intelligence and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology visited the Mapúa MCL campus.  Dr. Lau was warmly welcomed by Engr. Anthony Hilmer S. Medrano, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, along with select Vice Presidents and Assistant Vice Presidents.   

The courtesy call was followed by collaborative discussions with Prof. James Ronald O. Mesina, Assistant Vice President for External Relations and Global Linkages; Engr. Rolando V. Bitor, Assistant Vice President for Artificial Intelligence Integration Office; Ms. Pearl Stephanie Ulep, Director for Strategic Partnerships and Global Engagement; Dr. Hermie V. Articona, Director for Research Promotion and Coordination Office; Engr. Jesuniño R. Aquino, Dean of the Mapúa Institute of Technology at Laguna (MITL); Prof. Ronald Allan Delos Reyes, Faculty Member from the College of Arts and Sciences; and the Program Chairs of the MITL.   

This initiative reflects a shared commitment to advancing global collaboration in education, research, and technology, contributing to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4: Quality Education and 17 Partnerships for the Goals.
