As part of the ASEAN Month celebration and CMET Department Week, the initiative highlighted compassion, unity, and service. The Blood Donation Drive has long been an annual activity led by CMET, and this marks the second consecutive year of its successful partnership with TMCSL. Students, faculty, and staff joined as donors, each contribution serving as a vital gift of life.

The event followed closely after Mapúa MCL was recognized as one of the honored awardees during TMCSL’s Blood Donor Recognition Ceremony on September 16, 2025. The ceremony, held in celebration of Medical Technology Week with the theme “Precision in Practice, Passion in Service,” commended institutions and individuals for their vital contributions to voluntary blood donation. The recognition was given in heartfelt acknowledgment of the institution’s selfless act of saving lives through voluntary blood donation. Mapúa MCL was represented by the Dean of the Mapúa-PTC College of Maritime Education and Training, Capt. Armando Ternida and CMET Council President Jhunel Villacastin during the ceremony.

More than just a one-day event, the drive reflected the university’s alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By bridging partnerships and encouraging volunteerism, the initiative not only addressed urgent medical needs but also cultivated a culture of generosity and solidarity within the Mapúa Malayan community.
