Engr. Jesuniño R. Aquino, Dean of the Mapúa Institute of Technology at Laguna (MITL), and Ar. Wilfredo G. Gacutan, Chair of the Architecture Program, accepted the award on behalf of the institution.
“Isa pong karangalan ang makatanggap ng ganitong award coming from a Local Government Unit (LGU) na nagre-recognize sa performance ng isang private school sa Cabuyao. Kami po ay nagpapasalamat sa inyong pag-recognize sa amin at sa na-achieve na accomplishment [ng institusyon],” Ar. Gacutan stated during his acceptance speech.
Engr. Aquino shared that Mapúa MCL continues to aim for excellence across all programs, with a target of achieving at least an 80% passing rate in all board and certification examinations. He noted that the strong performance of the Architecture Program serves as a driving force for other disciplines within MITL.
“The Architecture Program sets a high standard that is not easy to match,” Engr. Aquino emphasized.
Ar. Gacutan further highlighted the institution’s holistic approach to student development, which contributes significantly to their success in licensure examinations.
“Our students are well-trained, supported by initiatives from the administration to enhance their education. Upon graduation, they do not only receive a diploma but also earn micro-credentials and certifications such as Autodesk Revit and USGBC LEED, which are recognized worldwide,” Ar. Gacutan explained.
He added that industry exposure also plays a vital role in preparing students for professional practice.
“Placing our students in reputable design firms, where they complete the required experience, greatly contributes to their readiness and success,” said Ar. Gacutan. “For the past four board examinations, Mapúa MCL’s Architecture Program has maintained an average passing rate of around 90%, which is a testament to the quality of education we provide.”
This recognition further affirms Mapúa MCL’s commitment to delivering industry-relevant education and producing competent, globally competitive professionals in the field of architecture and beyond.
This achievement underscores the institution’s commitment to the advancement of the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education.
