Celebrating Mapúa MCL’s President’s Listers for A.Y. 2024-2025
The Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (Mapúa MCL) community proudly celebrated academic excellence during the President’s List Recognition Ceremony held on January 27, 2026, at the Francisco Balagtas Auditorium, conducted in both morning (9:30–11:30 AM) and afternoon (1:30–3:30 PM) programs. The ceremony was held as part of Mapúa MCL’s 20th Foundation Week with the theme “20 Years of Making Milestones, Changing Lives.”
The ceremony honored outstanding President’s List awardees whose discipline, perseverance, and commitment to academic excellence set them apart. Recognized in the morning program were students from the College of Arts and Science (CAS), College of Health Sciences (CHS), Mapúa-PTC College of Maritime Education and Training (CMET), and Mapúa Laguna Institute of Aviation (MIA). The afternoon program celebrated awardees from the College of Computer and Information Science (CCIS), Enrique T. Yuchengco College of Business (ETYCB), and Mapúa Institute of Technology at Laguna (MITL).
The awarding of Certificates of Merit and President’s List Pins was led by Vice President for Academic Affairs Engr. Maribel G. Songsong and Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer Engr. Anthony Hilmer S. Medrano, with the support of the College Deans present. In the morning, these included Dr. Joy G. Hofileña (CAS), Dr. Noel R. San Antonio (CHS), Capt. Armando A. Ternida (CMET), and Capt. Michael John P. Reyes (MIA). In the afternoon, they were joined by Prof. Khristian G. Kikuchi (CCIS and Overall Chair of the 20th Foundation Week Anniversary), Prof. Maria Rhodora R. Austria (ETYCB), and Engr. Jesuniño R. Aquino (MITL).
The program opened with welcoming remarks from VPAA Engr. Songsong and was highlighted by an inspirational message from EVP-COO Engr. Medrano, who emphasized that while academic excellence is worthy of recognition, integrity remains non-negotiable in shaping future professionals and leaders. This message resonated strongly with the year’s theme, reminding everyone that true success is measured not only by achievements, but by character.
An applause-worthy moment was the Inspirational Number, a beautiful rendition of “Go the Distance,” performed by the Mapúa Malayan Vocal Ensemble, stirring the hearts of the audience and underscored the perseverance behind every milestone achieved.
The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from SAO Director Angelito D. Platino, who expressed gratitude to the parents, faculty members, program chairs, and academic leaders whose guidance and support continue to shape students’ journeys. The presence of families and mentors, capped by a meaningful group photo, made the celebration even more memorable.
As Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna marks 20 years of making milestones and changing lives, this year’s President’s List Recognition Ceremony stands as a powerful reminder that excellence, when grounded in integrity and purpose, has the power to transform lives and shape the future.
