Beyond the Helix Inspiring Young Minds through Science and Sustainability

Last July 9, 2025, B.S. Biology students from Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna’s (Mapúa MCL) College of Health Sciences took part in the Beyond the Helix: Interactive DNA, Genetic Engineering, and Sustainability outreach program. The students, who were taking up a Genetics course for the term, created genetic engineering posters and interactive DNA models using recycled materials, which were then proudly donated to the science students of Bigaa National High School. 

This interactive learning experience aimed to deepen understanding of genetics while promoting environmental responsibility supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13: Climate Action.  Through these events, Mapúa MCL students aim to continue inspiring young minds through science, creativity, and sustainable action.
