Mapúa MCL BS Information Technology program undergoes PICAB Interim Visit

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BS IT) program of Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna’s (Mapúa MCL) College of Computer and Information Science (CCIS) underwent a Philippine Computer Society Information and Computing Accreditation Board (PICAB) Interim Visit as part of its continuing efforts to maintain the quality of its education and enhance its academic programs.
The interim visit checks the program’s continued compliance with accreditation standards and its progress in addressing recommendations from previous evaluations. For the BS IT program, the visit is an important part of its quality assurance efforts, allowing the program to show its commitment to maintaining academic standards, supporting student learning, and improving its educational processes and resources.
As part of the evaluation, the program presented the required documents and evidence of its initiatives and improvements. Faculty and program representatives also engaged with the evaluators to discuss how the program’s curriculum, teaching practices, faculty development, student learning, resources, and engagement with stakeholders support its goals.
The PICAB Interim Visit also highlights the BS IT program’s commitment to continuously improving the quality of education it provides. Through the preparation of documents, presentation of program improvements, and discussions with the evaluators, the program was able to demonstrate its efforts to meet accreditation standards and provide students with a quality learning experience.
