Three fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy students of Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna’s (Mapúa MCL) E.T. Yuchengco College of Business (ETYCB), Shaira Marie T. Lopez, Janelle Irish R. Mayuga, and April Rose B. Tating, were named Champions in the Service and Lifestyle Category at the 3rd Calamba Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Summit 2026, held at the Jose Rizal Coliseum on July 31.

Organized by the City Government of Calamba under the theme “Local Strength, Global Potential,” the summit highlighted the city’s continuing support for local entrepreneurs and MSMEs through opportunities for learning, networking, innovation, and business development.

The students won with HELPKITA Solutions Co., an AI-driven accounting platform and advisory service that automates sales tracking and simplifies tax compliance for MSMEs. Also representing ETYCB were BS Accounting Information Systems students Ezekiella P. Flores, Seth Jasper P. Jacalan, and Adrienne Ruvy M. Orig, whose venture, VanaBase Nutritions, connects local farmers to markets through the VanaBase Connect digital platform and transforms locally grown crops into VitaBoost, a fortified nutrition powder for community programs.

Both teams were mentored by Dr. Ellenita R. Red and developed their ventures during the YES Camp at National University Laguna on June 23–24, 2026. Their achievement reflects ETYCB’s commitment to developing innovative and socially responsive solutions to real-world business and community challenges.

The students’ success also advances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through MSME and entrepreneurship development; SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) through AI and digital innovation; SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) through VanaBase Nutritions’ nutrition initiative; SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) through the value-adding of local agricultural products; and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration among academe, government, entrepreneurs, and communities.

The achievement affirms ETYCB’s role in developing Triple Threat graduates—competent professionals, innovative entrepreneurs, and socially responsible changemakers—who can translate business knowledge and technology into solutions that create meaningful economic and social impact in their communities.
