Mapúa MCL Student Researchers Present at the First 2026 Research Colloquium
On July 29, 2026, the First 2026 Research Colloquium gave students the platform to present their research papers under the theme, “Bridging Disciplines, Harnessing Intelligence: Interdisciplinary Innovation for an AI-Driven Future.”
Held at the Accreditation Room, the colloquium recognized the top three outstanding academic papers:
1st Place: Delineation of Tropospheric Pollutants for Predictive Modeling Using IoT-Enabled Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) by Gabriell Hermosando and Therese Angelie Serapion with their adviser Dr. Catherine Salvador.
2nd Place: The Role of Content Dimensions: A Predictive Study of AI-Generated TikTok Ads and Purchase Intent Among Selected Mapúa MCL Students by Rachelle Anne A. Abel, Yna Dorothy S. Abiera, Alyssa Jane B. Roxas, and Jadey B. Soriano with their adviser Prof. Hailey Ferrer.
3rd Place: Sining sa Lansangan: A Documentary Film on Project Brotsa of Angat Kabataan – San Pedro by Blanch Banzuela, John Henry Enerio, Mark Joshua Francia, and Nathaniel Peñalosa with their adviser Prof. Bart Andrew Mendoza.
Serving as the panel members were Dr. Adomar L. Ilao, Program Chair of BS Information Technology and a faculty member from the College of Computer and Information Science (CCIS); Dr. Ronald Allan S. de los Reyes, faculty member from the College of Arts and Science (CAS); Dr. Roel C. Rodrigo, Director of the Learning Environments and Innovation Office (LEIO); and Dr. Jeremy Paul E. Gecolea, Research Coordinator from the E.T. Yuchengco College of Business (ETCYB).
This event supports the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
