Mapúa MCL Celebrates SHS Week 2026 through the Trials of the Elite Mages

Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna Senior High School (Mapúa MCL-SHS) students celebrated their department week, Trials of the Elite Mages, through a series of magical-themed challenges held last April 24, 27, 28, and 29, 2026.
Mapúa MCL-SHS students were divided into six houses: the Retributive Raiders, Mercury Rising, Prosperous Posse, Somnus Sentinels, Shadow Seers, and the Vernal Vanguards, each striving to prove their strength, creativity, and teamwork. The event aimed to foster competition and camaraderie across the different teams and determine the most outstanding house among the participants.
The event kicked off with an opening ceremony at the Mapúa MCL Grandstand, where students proudly represented their respective house colors. The day also featured students competing in a variey of sports such as Table Tennis, Chess, and Scrabble, while others showcased their talents in Jeopardy, Dance, and Singing.
Day 2 highlighted the strategic thinking and teamwork with Valorant: Battle for 3rd and Mobile Legends: Semi-Finals.
The excitement continued on Day 3 with a diverse line-up of activities that emphasized SHS students’ creativity, intellect, and athletic prowess. These included On-The-Spot Drawing, Badminton, Pinoy Henyo, Table Tennis, Debate, Palarong Pinoy, the Spelling Bee, and the Women’s Basketball Championship.
The celebration concluded on April 29, 2026, with an exciting finale featuring the Mr. & Ms. SHS Competition, the much-anticipated Battle of the Bands, and the Awarding Ceremony held at the Gymnasium. The Somnus Sentinels emerged as the overall champion, earning the title of Elite Mages.
The Senior High School department week supports the institution’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-Being, SDG 4: Quality Education, and SDG 5: Gender Equality.
