Mapúa MCL Joins the SECRA Mobility Program in Sweden.

Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (Maa MCL) proudly stands as a member of the Strengthening University-Enterprise Collaboration for Resilient Communities in Asia (SECRA) project. This dynamic initiative, spanning three years, is funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and boasts participation from 13 distinguished institutions hailing from Sweden, the United Kingdom, Tallin, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the Philippines.

The overarching objective of SECRA is to contribute to the resilience of communities across Asia. It seeks to achieve this goal by fostering institutionalized, systematic, monitored, innovative, and inclusive collaborations among universities, industries, governments, non-government organizations (NGOs), and various other sectors of society. Through such collaborations, SECRA aims to facilitate lasting positive change and development.

As SECRA enters its third year, it remains dedicated to exploring new pathways for advancing University-Enterprise Collaborations, with a particular emphasis on addressing community resilience. One of its notable endeavors is the Staff Mobility Program, which took place from October 8 to 14, 2023, at Mid Sweden University in the charming city of Östersund, Sweden. This crucial event encompassed a rich array of activities, including training sessions, workshops, seminars, and technical visits, all geared towards the project’s objectives.

Dedicated representatives from Maa MCL played an essential role in this significant event. The following individuals, embodying the institution’s commitment to SECRA’s vision, participated actively in the program: Dr. Hermie Articona, Director of the Research Promotion and Coordination Office (RPCO), Dr. Roel Rodrigo, Director of the Institute for Excellence in Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning (IExCELL), and Dean Maria Rhodora R. Austria of the E.T. Yuchengco College of Business (ETYCB).

The participation of these esteemed Maa MCL representatives underscores the institution’s dedication to strengthening collaborations, fostering innovation, and contributing to the resilience of communities in Asia. As SECRA continues its mission, the impact of such partnerships will undoubtedly be felt throughout the region, paving the way for a more resilient and vibrant future.
