Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna Takes Center Stage at the QS Asia-Pacific Higher Education Summit 2024 in Macau

Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna (Mapúa MCL) proudly represented the Philippines at the prestigious QS Asia-Pacific Higher Education Summit 2024, held in Macau from November 5 to 7. The event brought together thought leaders, educators, and innovators from across the region to explore the theme, “Shaping Landscapes, Collaborative Solutions: Pioneering Innovation in Asia-Pacific Higher Education.”
Showcasing Expertise Through Live Presentations and Panel Discussions
Mapúa MCL’s delegation delivered compelling live presentations that underscored its commitment to innovation and collaboration in education.
Biology Program Chair Prof. Banjie G. Sarmiento and Vice President for Academic Affairs Engr. Maribel G. Songsong presented their work titled, “Collaborations through Academia Leading Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Efforts with Local Governments and the Community.” The session highlighted how partnerships between higher education institutions, local governments, and community stakeholders can effectively mitigate disaster risks while fostering resilience at the grassroots level.
Assistant Vice President for External Relations and Global Linkages, Prof. James Ronald O. Mesina and Office for Strategic Partnerships and Global Engagement Director Ms. Pearl Stephanie D. Ulep delivered their insightful presentation, “University Consortia for Student Mobility and Enhancement of Student Experience.” The presentation focused on the role of collaboration and in broadening student horizons through international mobility programs and shared strategies for enriching the overall student experience.
Adding to Mapúa MCL’s impactful presence, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Engr. Anthony Hilmer Medrano participated in a dynamic panel discussion on “Diversifying Minds in Higher Education.” Engr. Medrano shared valuable perspectives on fostering inclusivity and innovation in academic institutions, aligning with global trends, and prioritizing diverse and collaborative learning environments.
