Exploring Boundaries and Culture: Mapúa MCL student joins ASU Summer Immersion.

In June 2023, Kiel Enrique D. Domingo, B.S. Business Administration student from Mapúa Malayan Colleges Laguna’s E.T. Yuchengco College of Business, embarked on an enriching educational journey by participating in the ASU Summer Immersion Program at Arizona State University. This program offered an array of classes, workshops, and valuable opportunities for cultural exchange, allowing Kiel to broaden his horizons and gain valuable insights from renowned ASU professors and fellow students from diverse backgrounds.

Mapúa MCL recently collaborated with ASU to offer business and health sciences programs under the E.T. Yuchengco College of Business and the newly established department in the institution, College of Health Sciences. This collaboration will give Mapúa MCL students the opportunity to learn from ASU professors and access international curricula that will help them thrive on the global scene.

During his time at ASU, Kiel engaged in a variety of courses and workshops tailored to his academic interests and aspirations. The program provided him with the opportunity to learn from distinguished professors, who shared their expertise and knowledge in their respective fields. Kiel eagerly absorbed the wealth of information, expanded his understanding, and honed his critical thinking skills.

Through collaborative projects, Kiel developed his teamwork skills and gained valuable insights into the importance of cross-cultural communication.

As the summer program reached its culmination, Kiel returned home to the Philippines with a transformed outlook on life and learning. The ASU Summer Immersion Program had gifted him not only with knowledge but also with lifelong friendships and memories that he would cherish for years to come.

The existence of such immersion programs proves that Mapúa MCL remains committed to fulfilling its mission and vision of cultivating globally competitive students and establishing itself as a leading institution for education and research
