Career Readiness Toolkit with Jobs180: Preparing Students for the Future of Work

The Career Readiness Toolkit seminar was successfully conducted as part of the Pathways to Employability initiative, empowering students with essential skills to thrive in the workforce. Held on January 16, 2025, the event welcomed practicum students from BS Psychology, BS Industrial Engineering, and B. Multimedia Arts as they prepared to enter the professional world.

The seminar featured Kim Chua, Managing Director of Jobs180.com, a distinguished expert with 20 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Customer Service, Operations, Business Process, and Human Resources. Having conducted over 1,000 career development seminars across 400+ colleges and universities nationwide, he provided valuable insights to help students navigate the evolving job market.

Preparing Students for the Future of Work.

With the theme “Future-Proof Your Career,” the speaker discussed the impact of AI and automation on various industries and shared strategies on how students could stay competitive in an AI-driven job market. He also explored the role of digital technologies in transforming industries and emphasized the critical skills needed for future careers.

As a key initiative supporting Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, the seminar reinforced the importance of workplace readiness and adaptability in an evolving job landscape. The seminar also aligned with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, as it was made possible through collaboration between academia and industry, ensuring students gain real-world career insights.

The seminar not only equipped students with in-demand workplace skills but also inspired them to embrace lifelong learning and innovation. As industries continue to evolve, students are encouraged to stay proactive in developing their skills, exploring new opportunities, and building strong professional networks.
