APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES

Any applicant intending to study at Malayan Colleges Laguna as a freshman may be admitted on the following basis:

• Performance in the Malayan Colleges Laguna Entrance Examination (MCLEE)
• Choice of program and quota set for each specific program
• Good Moral Character

To apply, a candidate must be one of the following:

1. A Grade 12 student;
2. A 4th year high school graduate from S.Y. 2015-2016 and prior who has never entered college/university;
3. Or a student who passed the Bureau of Alternative Learning System (BALS) or the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT).

Filing of application for S.Y. 2019-2020 will start on September 1, 2018.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Duly filled application form for Undergraduate
2. Photocopy of Grade 12 School ID or report card
3. Two (2) pieces 1.5” x 1.5” recent identical pictures with plain background
4. Application fee of PHP 400.00

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

STEP 1:Submit the listed requirements to the Admissions Office (ADO) and pay the application fee at the Treasury Office (TO).

STEP 2:Present official receipt of payment to ADO and secure test permit and admissions kit.

STEP 3:Take the MCL Entrance Exam (MCLEE) on the scheduled date. Examinees are advised to arrive 30 minutes earlier for an orientation, and to present their test permit to the proctor.Exam results may be viewed online here after seven (7) working days.

After passing the MCLEE, Marine applicants are advised to:

3.1 Submit a valid ID to Health Metrics Inc. (HMI) 4th Level of Prism Plaza in Two-Ecom Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City for medical exam
3.2 Claim the medical result in HMI
3.3 Submit the medical result to Center for Health Services & Wellness (CHSW) of MCL


STEP 4:After receiving the MCLEE results, applicants may pay the non-refundable and non-transferrable enrollment confirmation fee (PHP3,000) until April 30, 2019. In case you miss the deadline of payments for the enrollment confirmation fee, you may proceed with your enrollment on the dates which will be announced.

STEP 5:Prepare the requirements for enrollment.

Applicants are advised to submit their requirements for admission at least three (3) days before their preferred date to take the MCL Entrance Exam (MCLEE).

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS

We would like to remind the enrollee to prepare the list of requirements below. We have designated areas for the parents to stay while waiting for the enrollee as we encourage them to process their enrollment independently.

MCL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Original Grade 12 report card showing applicant’s eligibility for admission to college, duly signed by the High School Principal.

         Reminders:

            1.1 The principal/adviser must countersign the report card if it has erasures or alterations

            1.2 The applicant must submit a certificate of the school’s numerical equivalent if the report card contains alpha grades

            1.3 The applicant must submit an authenticated report card if he/she graduated from an international school

2. Recent certificate of Good Moral Character (issued year of completion) from the High School Principal with school seal
3. Photocopy of PSA birth certificate (original must be presented for verification)

            3.1 if the applicant is not a Filipino citizen, submit:

               3.1.1 Original and photocopy of passport with at least 6-month validity;

               3.1.2 Alien Certificate of Registration;

               3.1.3 Student visa or student study permit

            3.2 It the applicant has dual citizenship, submit

               3.2.1 Certificate of recognition as Filipino citizen or Philippine Passport;

               3.2.2 Authenticated Birth Certificate

4. Two pieces 1 ½ ” x 1 ½ ” recent identical pictures with white background and name at the back

GUIDELINES FOR ID PICTURE-CAPTURING

ID picture-capturing will be done during enrollment in MCL. These guidelines will be implemented in picture-capturing for the official MCL ID.

a. Eyeglasses must be removed.
b. Contact lenses may be worn, but contact lenses that change one’s true eye color must be removed.
c. Both ears should be visible.
d. Earrings must be removed.
e. Hair accessories must be removed.
f. Students must wear a collared shirt or blouse. If the student is wearing an un-collared shirt or blouse, then a coat or blazer must be worn over it. Girls must not wear attires with plunging necklines.
g. No hats or head coverings must be worn, except for religious purposes. A Muslim student may wear a hijab and not show her ears, but her face should be wholly visible for identification. The head covering must not cover the eyebrows and eyes.

E. T. YUCHENGCO INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIP (College)

The E.T. Yuchengco Institutional Scholarship is for incoming college freshmen who belong to the Top 10 performing MCL Entrance Exam (MCLEE) takers from October to April of the current school year; and/or the Top 10 MCL Senior High School graduates.

Benefits:

• Free full tuition, L/F/D, and miscellaneous fees per term
• Learning materials worth P2, 000 per term

Requirements for Initial Application:

Requirements for Renewal Application:

• Final Grade Report
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: Scholars must obtain at least a minimum Term Weighted Average of 1.75 at the end of the previous term, pass all curriculum-required enrolled units for the previous term, remain in his/her academic program, and have no disciplinary action or pending disciplinary case.

MCL WIZARD ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP (College)

Selected for their potential to excel academically, recipients of the MCL Wizard Entrance Scholarship for college are incoming freshmen students who belong to the top performing MCL Entrance Exam (MCLEE) takers from October to April of the current school year, and are determined after the selection of the 10 E.T. Yuchengco Institutional Scholarship recipients.

Benefits

• 25%-50% tuition and L/F/D scholarship for 1 Term

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action or pending disciplinary case.

MCL DNA OF EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP

Academic honoree graduates of MCL Senior High School (MCL-SHS) are recognized to possess the MCL DNA of Excellence through this scholarship. This is for incoming freshmen students who graduated from MCL-SHS, obtained a GWA of 90.00 and above, and belong to the top 10% of their track-strand population.

Benefits:

• 25%-50% tuition and L/F/D scholarship for 1 Term

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action or pending disciplinary case.

MCL LOYALTY DISCOUNT

The MCL Loyalty Discount is for incoming college freshmen students who belong to the MCL Senior High School (MCL-SHS) Grade 12 graduation batch of S.Y. 2018-2019.

Benefits:

• 10% tuition fee discount for the 1st Term of S.Y. 2019-2020

Requirements for Application:

• Duly accomplished Application Form for Scholarship
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action imposed for a major offense during the term.

YGC PROMOTIONAL DISCOUNT

To qualify for the YGC Promotional Discount, a student must have a parent who has been verified and certified to be currently a regular employee of a YGC member company.

Benefits:

• 25% tuition fee and L/F/D discounts per term

Requirements for Application:

• Duly accomplished Application Form for YGC Promotional Discount
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action imposed for a major offense during the term.

MCL STUDY AID

To qualify for the MCL Study Aid, a student must have a parent who has been verified and certified to be currently a regular employee of MCL.

Benefits:

• 50% tuition fee and L/F/D discounts per term

Requirements for Application:

• Duly accomplished Application Form for MCL Study Aid
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action imposed for a major offense during the term.

SIBLING DISCOUNT

To qualify for the Sibling Discount, an MCL student must be verified to be a younger sibling of another student currently enrolled at MCL.

Benefits:

• First sibling – 10% tuition fee discount
• Second sibling – 25% tuition fee discount
• Third sibling – 40% tuition fee discount

Note: A student cannot apply for a sibling discount if he or she already enjoys another MCL-sponsored scholarship or discount.

MCL CUP SCHOLARSHIP

Winners of selected events of the annual MCL Cup qualify for the MCL Cup Scholarship.



The terms and conditions of the scholarship benefits are stipulated in the MCL Cup Scholarship Certificate.

• Duly accomplished Application Form for Scholarship (for first time applicants)
• Scholarship Validation Form

JOSE RIZAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Jose Rizal Scholarship is awarded to student-applicants selected by the Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement (CSCE) considering their passion for community service and commitment to the core advocacies of the institution.

Qualifications:


•Parents’ combined gross annual income is Php500,000.00 or below
•Satisfactory performance in the MCLEE
•Enrollment in an NSTP course

Benefits:

• 50% tuition fee discount

Requirements for Application:


• Duly accomplished Jose Rizal Scholarship Application Form
• Financial documents stipulated in the Application Form
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action imposed for a major offense during the term.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

The Academic Scholarship is given to college students who belong to the top 10% of their academic program and achieved a minimum TWA of 1.75 in the previous regular term.

Benefits:

• 100% tuition fee and L/F/D discount for those with TWA of 1.50 and above
• 50% tuition fee and L/F/D discount for those with TWA lower than 1.50

Requirements for Application:


• Duly accomplished Application Form for Scholarship (for first time applicants)
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action imposed for a major offense during the term. Students with disciplinary record for any major offense are disqualified for the scholarship.




NOTE: Scholarships/financial aids are validated during the enrolment period for the coming term with the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance. No scholarships/discounts shall be applied in case the qualified student fails to have his/her scholarship validated during the announced scholarship validation period.
