Shifting & Transferring from/to Other Programs

Program Groups

Programs are classified and grouped on the basis of the required set of skills and acumen from the student. Based on this precept, the following programs offered at Malayan Colleges Laguna are grouped as follows:

  1. ENGINEERING (Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering)
  2. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
  3. BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT (Accountancy)

Shifting/Transferring from/to Another Program

  • SHIFTING - transfer from one program to another program of the same or of another program group.
  • TRANSFERRING - transfer from one program to another program of different program groups due to failure to comply with the academic requirements of the previous program.

Guidelines for Shifting

Students may request to shift from one program to another program of the same or of another program group provided that he/she satisfies all the criteria required by the accepting program (and the accepting group). (Please refer to the summary of requirements.)

Students may shift for a number of times from one program to another.

The Center for Guidance and Counselling (CGC) and the Center for Student Advising (CSA) shall assist students requesting to shift.

The Office of the College Registrar shall evaluate all courses taken by the student for credit in the new program.

Guidelines for Transferring

Students removed from one program due to failure to comply with the academic requirements may request for transfer to another program of another program group provided that he/she satisfies all the requirements of the accepting program group and the accepting program. (Please refer to the summary of requirements.)

Students removed from one program due to failure to comply with the academic requirements may not transfer to another program of the same program group.

Students removed from one program due to failure to comply with the academic requirements and who apply for transfer to another program of another program group may not be allowed to transfer back to any of the program of the previous program group, regardless of an improved academic standing.

The Office of the College Registrar shall evaluate all courses taken by the student for credit in the new program.
