Scholarships and Financial Assistance Programs

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Academic Scholarship Program is awarded to any MCL student who obtains a grade of 1.75 or better. The program is enhanced as awardees are encouraged to be part of the mentoring program of the Center for Student Advising.

How do I qualify?

  • You have to obtain a grade of 1.75 or better, and
  • Have enrolled at least twelve (12) academic units during your previous term

What do I get?

TWA of 1.75 to 1.51 (Dean’s List) 50% discount on tuition and L/F/D fees
TWA of TWA of 1.50 to 1.00 (President’s List) 100% discount on tuition and L/F/D fees

How do I apply?

  1. Secure an APPLICATION FORM FOR SCHOLARSHIP at the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance located in the Office for Student Services.
  2. Fill out the form and submit it together with a photocopy of your Final Grade Report (FGR).
  3. The Center will evaluate your submitted documents and will let you know once your application has been approved.

JOSE RIZAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Jose Rizal Scholarship is awarded to any MCL student that has the passion for community service and adheres to the core advocacies of the institution. The program also aims to impart the spirit of nationalism, volunteerism, environmental and socio-economic awareness amongst its grantees.

How do I qualify?

  • For freshmen applicants:
    • You must have scored at least 85% or better in the MCL Entrance Exam
  • For college applicants:
    • You must have at least garnered a 2.50 Term Weighted Average or better during your previous term
    • Have no FAILING GRADE in any course, including Values Education, PE and NSTP
  • Must have an enrolled NSTP course

How do I apply?

  • Secure an APPLICATION FORM FOR SCHOLARSHIP and the JOSE RIZAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM at the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance located at the Office for Student Services.
  • Fill out the form and submit it together with the following requirements on or before the given deadline*:
    • Photocopy of Parents’ Income Tax Return (ITR) OR Certificate of Non-Filing of ITR OR Affidavit of Non-Filing of ITR. Your Parents’ Gross Annual Income should not exceed more than Php 300,000.00. Should one of your parents be an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), you may submit a Certificate of Employment with compensation.
    • Letter of Intent addressed to the Section Head of Service Learning/National Service Training Program, Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement
    • Two 1.5” x 1.5” ID Photo
  • We’d like to know you more. You’ll be talking with the Coordinator of the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance (CSFA), a Guidance Counselor from the Center for Guidance and Counseling (CGC) and lastly, the Section Head of the Service Learning/NSTP of the Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement (CSCE).
  • The CSFA Coordinator will advise you of the result of your application.

STUDENT TUITION FEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The Student Tuition Fee Assistance Program (STuFAP) is granted to an MCL student who wishes to continue studies with the institution, but is financially challenged. The program will subsidize a part of your tuition fees. In exchange, you will be part of the esteemed teams of our offices and departments as a Student Assistant.

How do I qualify?

  • You should have been with us for a minimum of one (1) term.
  • Your RE-ADMISSION status in your Final Grade Report should be “OK”
  • Have no FAILING GRADE in any course, including Values Education, PE and NSTP

What do I get?

How do I apply?

  • Secure an APPLICATION FORM FOR SCHOLARSHIP at the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance.
  • Fill out the form and submit it together with the following requirements:
    • Photocopy of latest Certificate of Matriculation
    • Photocopy of Final Grade Report
    • Letter of Consent from Parents/Guardian(s)
    • Certificate of Good Health
      • You may get this from our Center for Health Services and Wellness
    • 1.5” x 1.5” ID Photo
    • Photocopy of Parents’ Income Tax Return (ITR) OR Certificate of Non-Filing of ITR OR Affidavit of Non-Filing of ITR. Your Parents’ Gross Annual Income should not exceed more than Php 300,000.00. HIGH SCHOOL HONOR STUDENTS SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS

Graduating in high school with flying colors doesn’t just make you proud, but your parents as well. And it just got even better with the High School Honor Students Scholarship Grants of Malayan Colleges Laguna.

How do I qualify?

  • You must have graduated as the Class Valedictorian, Salutatorian or part of the Top 10 of the class.

What do I get?

  • For high schools with 49 graduating students or less

    Valedictorian Free full tuition and L/F/D fees for three (3) consecutive terms
    Salutatorian Free full tuition and L/F/D fees for two (2) consecutive terms
    First Honorable Mention Free full tuition and L/F/D fees for one (1) term

  • For high schools with 50 graduating students or more

    Valedictorian Free full tuition and L/F/D fees for three (3) consecutive terms
    Salutatorian Free full tuition and L/F/D fees for two (2) consecutive terms
    Honorable Mentions (3rd to 10th place) Free full tuition and L/F/D fees for one (1) term

How do I apply?

  • Secure an APPLICATION FORM FOR SCHOLARSHIP at the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance.
  • Fill out the form and submit it together with the following requirements on or before the given deadline*:
    • Original copy of Certificate of Honor signed by the HS Principal stating your rank and the total number of graduating students. Have it dry sealed.
  • The CSFA Coordinator will advise you should your application be approved.

SIBLING DISCOUNTS

The Sibling Discounts are granted to any MCL Student taking Baccalaureate degrees that have sibling(s) studying at MCL, as well.

How do I qualify?

  • You must have at least one sibling currently enrolled at MCL. This must be validated and recommended by the Office of the College Registrar.

What do I get?

Youngest of the two (2) 10% discount on tuition fees
Youngest of the three (3) 25% discount on tuition fees
Youngest of the four (4) 40% discount on tuition fees

How do I apply?

  • Secure an APPLICATION FORM FOR SCHOLARSHIP at the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance.
  • Fill out the form and submit it together with the following requirements:
    • Photocopy of yours and your sibling(s)’ Birth Certificate
  • The CSFA Coordinator will advise you should your application be approved.

STUDENT ASSISTANTSHIP PROGRAM

The program is offered to MCL Students who are willing to work as Student Assistants in one of the offices/colleges of MCL. You get to be compensated at the prevailing minimum wage rate in an hourly basis.

How do I qualify?

  • You should have been with us for a minimum of one (1) term.
  • You must have enrolled at least 12 units during the previous term
  • Has no FAILING GRADE, including NSTP and PE

What do I get?

How do I apply?

  • Secure an APPLICATION FORM FOR SCHOLARSHIP at the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance.
  • Fill out the form and submit it together with the following requirements:
    • Photocopy of latest Certificate of Matriculation

MALAYAN COLLEGES LAGUNA STUDY AID

If your parent is a member of the MCL workforce, you may take advantage of our MCL Study Aid.

How do I qualify?

  • Your parent should be a regular employee of MCL.

What do I get?

  • Secure a SCHOLARSHIP VALIDATION FORM from the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance.
  • Fill out the form together with these requirements:
    • Photocopy of parent’s MCL Employee ID
  • The CSFA Coordinator will advise you once your application is approved.

MCL CUP SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS

Join the biggest event in the region and you may win a full scholarship grant for one year at Malayan Colleges Laguna.

How do I qualify?

  • Participate in the small group events of the MCL Cup and win a title.

What do I get?

  • Full tuition fee discount to all winners of the MCL Cup

How do I apply?

  • Secure an APPLICATION FORM FOR SCHOLARSHIP at the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance.
  • Fill out the necessary details on the form and submit it together with the Certificate of Participation or Scholarship Grant awarded to you by MCL.
  • The CSFA Coordinator will advise you once your application is already approved.

YGC PROMOTIONAL DISCOUNT

This discount is given to MCL Students whose parents are working in a YGC member company.

How do I qualify?

  • Your parent must be working in a YGC member company.

What do I get?

How do I apply?

  • Secure an APPLICATION FORM FOR SCHOLARSHIP at the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance
  • Fill out the form and submit it with these documents:
    • Certificate of Employment (COE) of parent issued by the HR Manager of the YGC member company
    • Photocopy of ID of parent
  • The CSFA Coordinator will advise you once your application is approved.

MEGAWORLD FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship program is sponsored by Megaworld Foundation. The program is offered for those who want to pursue a career in Engineering, particularly in the Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering fields.

How do I qualify?

  • For freshmen applicants:
    • You have to be part of the upper 10% of the graduating class
    • Pass the MCL Entrance Exams, Scholarship Exams and Interview
  • For College applicants:
    • You must have NO FAILING GRADE during your stay with us
  • Have no other scholarship enjoying in and out of the institution
  • Physically fit to pursue the degree
  • Of good character and has never been reprimanded by the Office for Student Services or by any institution

What do I get?

Allowance of Php 20,000.00 per school year

How do I apply?

  • Secure an APPLICATION FORM FOR SCHOLARSHIP from the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance.
  • Fill out the form and submit it with these following documents on or before the given deadline*:
    • For freshmen applicants:
      • Original copy of Final Grades
      • Certificate of Upper 10% Class Ranking of Graduating Batch
    • For college applicants:
      • Original Copy of Final Grade Reports
      • Photocopy of Certificate of Matriculation
      • Complete Course Curriculum
    • Certificate of Ineligibility from other Scholarship Grant/Educational Plan. You may get this from the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance.
    • Certificate of Good Health. You may get this from the Center for Health Services and Wellness
    • Certificate of Good Moral Character.
    • Barangay and NBI/Police Clearance
    • Income Tax Return (ITR) or BIR Certification for Tax Exempt and Affidavit for Non-filing of ITR
    • Sketch of Residence

  • For freshmen applicants, you’ll be taking a scholarship exam. Email us at scholarships@mcl.edu.ph to know your schedule.
  • We’d like to know your thoughts. You’ll be interviewed by the CSFA Coordinator, a Guidance Counselor from the Center for Guidance and Counseling, and lastly, a representative from Megaworld Foundation Inc. We’ll let you know your schedule for interview.
  • The CSFA Coordinator will let you know once you have passed the scholarship exams and interviews, and should your application be approved.

PETRON SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

This scholarship program is sponsored by Petron Corporation. The program is offered for those who want to continue pursuing a career in Engineering, particularly in the Mechanical, Electrical and Chemical Engineering fields.

How do I qualify?

  • You have to be an incoming 3rd, 4th or 5th year under the Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering program
  • You have to be part of the top 5-10% of the class based on the latest Term Weighted Average

What do I get?

How do I apply?

    • Certified True Copy of Grades
    • Recommendation from the Department Head, Dean, etc.
    • Certificate of Good Moral
    • Certificate of Good Health
  • We like to know your thoughts. You’ll be interviewed by the CSFA Coordinator, a Guidance Counselor from the Center for Guidance and Counseling, and lastly, a representative from Petron Corporation. We’ll let you know your schedule for interview.
  • You may be asked to bring additional documents as it may be deemed necessary.
  • The CSFA Coordinator will let you know once you have passed the scholarship exams and interviews, and should your application be approved.

E.T. YUCHENGCO INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

This scholarship program is awarded if you do well in the MCL Entrance Exams. Only 10 applicants with the highest scores will be given this esteemed scholarship grant.

How do I qualify?

  • If you got a 90% rating or better in the MCL Entrance Exams, passed the Scholarship Exams and Interview

What do I get?

  • Send an email to scholarships@mcl.edu.ph with your name, name of your high school, and your MCL Entrance Exam rating to get your schedule for the Scholarship Exams.
  • Secure an APPLICATION FORM FOR SCHOLARSHIP from the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance.
  • Fill out the form and submit it with these following documents on or before the deadline*:
    • Photocopy of Certificate of Good Moral
    • Photocopy of Letter of Admission to MCL with rating
    • Photocopy of Form 137/Final Grade Report
    • Two (2) 1.5” x 1.5” ID Photo
  • Take the Scholarship Exams on your scheduled date. Ace it!
