MCL tops August 2018 Mechanical Engineer Board Exam

Consisting of more than 50 examinees, Malayan Colleges Laguna's (MCL) latest batch of licensed Mechanical Engineers obtained a 94.74% passing rate, successfully placing the institution as the Top 1 Performing School in the Philippines for the August 2018 Mechanical Engineer Licensure Exam.

Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL) has yet again made a historic achievement as it placed as the Top 1 Performing School in the Philippines in the Mechanical Engineer Licensure Exam held last August 2018. With more than 50 examinees, MCL obtained an impressive 94.74% passing rate.

Although he was expecting that the school would be included in the Top 10 Performing Schools, MCL’s Mechanical Engineering (ME) Program Chair Engr. Orlando G. Perez was proud and thankful when he got the news from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) last August 31. It was especially memorable for him because it was his birthday when he assisted his former students in preparing for their board exam the next day.

“I told them that it would be the greatest birthday gift that they could give me,” said Engr. Perez.

One of the passers, Engr. Brent Don C. Samson, expressed his satisfaction and gratitude for being able to represent MCL and contribute to such a feat.

“I felt proud for the ME family, which has a strong camaraderie and passion for succeeding. On behalf of my fellow passers, we are thankful for the continuous support, knowledge, and ethics that MCL has imprinted in us while we were going through our college life and also for ensuring that we will be well-developed and equipped for our future careers,” he shared.

Pushing continuously towards excellence, Engr. Perez now wants his former students to aim for the title of professional mechanical engineer (PME), following the footsteps of MCL’s first PME, Marvin Yandoc, who successfully passed the Technical Evaluation for the Upgrading as Professional Mechanical Engineer last August 2018.
