Representing Barangay Zapote, Stephanie won the crown of Ms. Biñan 2018, the competition for which was held last May 20, 2018 at the Alonte Sports Arena, Biñan, Laguna. She also brought home awards for Miss Photogenic, Ms. PLDT-Smart, Best in Swimwear, and Best in Evening Gown.

She admitted that she joined beauty pageants because of her handlers in a modeling school who insisted that she try it. “Hindi ko kasi talaga gustong mag-pageant. Ang gusto ko talaga ay yung pagra-ramp sa stage.” She thanks modeling for making her confident in front of a large crowd, however.

Giving it a chance, Stephanie joined her first pageant in 2017, the Mutya ng Pilipinas Southern Luzon, where she was the youngest and smallest contestant, unlike the other contenders who were more experienced. Still, she managed to enter the Top 8.

For her second pageant, Stephanie went through tough screening, competing against several Miss Biñan aspirants and meeting strict judges before qualifying to be part of Mister and Miss Biñan’s roster of candidates.

Being adept on stage, Stephanie eventually enjoyed being in pageants and that motivated her to win. “Masaya lang kasi talaga rumampa sa stage kaya na-enjoy ko rin. Hindi ako na-stress masyado. Gusto ko yung nakikita ako ng mga tao.”

This feat makes Stephanie the representative of Biñan in Binibining Laguna during the Anilag Festival on March 2019.

Though she is now excelling in this endeavor, Stephanie still wants to focus first on pursuing her degree and to be an architect-slash-professional model after college.
