In pursuit of continuously improving its quality of education, Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL) makes sure that both its students and faculty members have access to a wide range of resources for their courses and research works by acquiring Wiley E-book Library, which is accessible through the MCL Blackboard Learn site.

Through their mobile phones and gadgets, MCL users can browse and borrow e-books from a list of titles, from accounting, life sciences, digital arts, physics, and astronomy, to name a few, from John Wiley & Sons, Inc., a global publishing company that specializes in academic publishing.

Students are also certain to find an e-book they need for their courses because the titles on the list have been preselected by the deans, program chairs, and cluster heads.

“For MCL, access to resources is important. We want to equip the community with a fast and reliable database of resources that is available even when the user is offline. This is where the MCL Wiley Digital Library makes an impact, ensuring that the whole community has information at their fingertips so they can readily use this for more important purposes,” Prof. Abigail Joy Rodelas-Angelia, MCL-Learning Environments and Innovations (LEI) Director, explained.

Moreover, since the e-books are launched using the Vital Source Bookshelf, they can be read even without internet access and users can easily search, highlight, take notes, and share them with their colleagues and classmates.

This innovation also sets a new milestone for MCL for becoming the first institution in the Philippines to acquire Wiley E-book Library.
