MCL welcomes new students with Ablaze 2017

Old and new students from Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL) gathered together for a night of music with one of the guest bands, Autotelic.

Following tradition, Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL), with the help of the MCL Supreme Student Council (SSC), treated its new students to a week of fun and music with Ablaze 2017 last July 24-28.

A festive aura filled the campus the entire week as food booths were opened to satisfy everyone. Students were also invited to perform music and spoken word poetry through the open mic jamming.

This year's Ablaze celebration was made special with non-toxic colored powder, giving it the name “The MCL Color Outburst.”

The MCL Color Outburst, which was held on the last day of Ablaze 2017, served as the culminating night where the lighting of the blue flame that symbolizes the welcoming of new MCL students was done. The annual event was made extra special this year as non-toxic colored powder was drizzled on them, smearing their clothes.

To add spice to the evening, DJ Andre Manalastas, BennyBunnyBand, and Autotelic all gave electrifying and memorable performances.

SSC President Andrew R. De Jesus thanked the people who made this year’s Ablaze possible. “To the MCL Community, expect more fun events, both in academics and non-academics, this year. I want to challenge the norms and think of events and projects that will surely benefit each and every student.”

Ablaze, now on its 3rd year, has become MCL’s official brand for the annual welcoming event.
