MCL's representatives in PIIE-CSC's roster of elected officers for this year: Reginaldo N. Cea, Regional Head; and Mel Darryl M. Dela, Director for Publication.

Pressured yet positive.

That is how the new Regional Head of the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers-CALABARZON Student Chapter (PIIE-CSC) and fourth year Industrial Engineering (IE) student Reginaldo “Reg” N. Cea feels in his recent responsibility.

Reg, who was then the organization’s Executive Director/Vice President, was the only one who took on the challenge to run for Presidency since the previous officers already have tight schedules. He still went through the election process, however.

Being the second MCL representative to be elected as Regional Head, he considers it his privilege to lead such a huge association.

Wala na rin naman po for me yung position, kasi in the end isang team po kayong magtutulungan para maging successful ang bawat event,” he stressed.

As a strict and hands-on leader, Reg said he always asks assurance from his members about their duties for him to check if they are all on the same page.

With grateful heart, Reg acknowledged the people who supported, inspired, and helped him represent MCL: MCL alumni, Engineers Jumer Gorospe (PIIE-National Student Chapter President, 2015-2016) and Danwil Mariñas (PIIE-CSC Director for Finance, 2015-2016); and MCL IE Program Chair Engr. Rachel C. Villanueva.

Besides Reg, IE student Mel Darryl M. Dela was also elected as the Director for Publication of PIIE-CSC.

For PIIE-CSC to be known all over the Philippines is Reg’s future major plan, inspiring other regions to form an organization like theirs.

And, to all IE students in CALABARZON, here’s a message from your President: “Go out of your comfort zone! Do things that will stretch your capabilities as a person. You are more than what you think and what others think of you. Watch out for the new events coming this year! I am excited for all of you to build more connections and to bring out the potential leader in you!”
