MITL, CSCE extend hand to Panguil River Eco Park

Representatives from the Mapua Institute of Technology at Laguna (MITL) and the Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement (CSCE) turn over the antennas designed for better TV reception to residents of the Panguil River Eco Park.

On February 24, 2017, the Mapua Institute of Technology at Laguna (MITL), in cooperation with the Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement (CSCE), visited Malayan Colleges Laguna’s adopted community, the Panguil River Eco Park in Pangil, Laguna for the turnover of antennas, the assessment of a walkway rail project, and the installation and demonstration of step-on tablets, all done and contributed by the institution.

MITL also provided a 100-meter stretch walkway rail and concrete-tire tablets for the Eco Park.

The first project started last November when the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP)-MCL organization, the Philippine Amateur Radio Association (PARA), Inc., and Engineers Anthony Hilmer S. Medrano and Melchizedek I. Alipio teamed up to design an antenna which will be used for the area’s TV reception.

Civil Engineering (CE) students, on the other hand, provided a 100-meter stretch walkway rail and concrete-tire tablets for a safe submerged walkway and to add aesthetic value to the Eco Park. Professors Generoso L. Loza and Henry L. Paz and Engr. Neslyn E. Lopez demonstrated the latter for mason workers.

The whole initiative served as part of MCL’s Project ECHO.
