MCL’s CE student named one of BPI’s Top 10 Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children 2014

Fifth-year Civil Engineering student Francheezca Mae D. Nono was honored as one of the Ten Outstanding Expat Pinoy Children by the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) last December 15, 2014. Held at BPI’s Head Office in Makati, the event was witnessed by school administration representatives, proud parents, and the media. MCL was represented by CE program chair Engr. Hermie M. del Pilar. Now on its eighth year, the Search for the Ten Oustanding Expat Pinoy Children aims to honor exceptional Filipino students and at the same time pay tribute to the sacrifices and hard work of their parents overseas. The BPI-sponsored contest is open to all Filipino students enrolled in any college or university in the Philippines with parents who work abroad.... (full story)

Broadcast journalist Jiggy Manicad holds seminar-workshop at MCL

More than two hundred students and teachers from different high schools in Laguna attended the much-awaited talk by broadcast journalist Jiggy Manicad last November 13, 2014 at the Francisco Balagtas Auditorium of Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL). Titled “Ang Mga Kwento ni Jiggy Manicad: Visual Storytelling for News and Features for Young Broadcast Journalists”, the seminar-workshop was brought to MCL through the partnership and coordination between the College of Arts and Science (CAS) and the Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement (CSCE)....
