ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES FOR INCOMING GRADE 11

Any applicant intending to study at MCL Senior High School may be admitted on the following basis:
• Performance in the Malayan Colleges Laguna Senior High School Diagnostic Examination (MSDE)
• Good Moral Character

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS (GRADE 11)

1. Duly filled application form for Senior High School
2. Photocopy of Grade 10 School ID or report card
3. Two (2) pieces 1.5” x 1.5” identical pictures with plain background
4. Application fee of PHP 300.00

APPLICATION PROCEDURE (GRADE 11)

STEP 1: Submit the listed requirements to the Admissions Office (ADO) and pay the application fee at the Treasury Office (TO).
STEP 2: Present official receipt of payment to ADO and secure test permit and admissions kit.
STEP 3: Take the MCL Senior High School Diagnostic Exam (MSDE) on the scheduled date. Examinees are advised to arrive 30 minutes earlier for an orientation, and to present their test permit to the proctor.

Exam results may be viewed online here after seven (7) working days.

NOTE: Please update ADO of any changes in your email address and contact numbers. Kindly note that results will not be released over the telephone. Should you have further inquiries, email admissions@mcl.edu.ph or call via (049) 832 – 4063 to 66.

STEP 4: After receiving the MSDE results, applicants may pay the non-refundable and non-transferrable enrollment confirmation fee (PHP3,000) until April 30, 2019. In case you miss the deadline of payments for the enrollment confirmation fee, you may proceed with your enrollment on the dates which will be announced.
STEP 5: Prepare the requirements for enrollment.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES FOR GRADE 12 TRANSFEREES

Any applicant intending to study at MCL Senior High School may be admitted on the following basis:

• Performance in the Malayan Colleges Laguna Senior High School Diagnostic Examination (MSDE)
• Good Moral Character

Senior High School students may transfer to MCL for Grade 12 at the start of the new school year.


APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS (GRADE 12 TRANSFEREES)

1. Duly accomplished admission form
2. Original and photocopy of Grade 11 Report Card
3. Grade 11 Curriculum
4. Two (2) pieces 1.5” x 1.5” recent identical pictures with plain background
5. Application fee of PHP 300.00

  Additional Requirements for International Students:
     • Original and photocopy of Grade 11 Report Card
      -Translated version (if needed)
      -The applicant must submit a certificate of the school’s numerical equivalent if the report card contains alpha grades
      • Recommendation letter (Certificate of Good Moral Character from High School Principal or Guidance Counselor
         with the issued year of moving up and school seal)
      • Subject descriptions from school.

STEP 1: Submit the listed requirements to the Admissions Office (ADO). Wait for the advice of the ADO regarding the scheduled interview with the MCL Senior High School Department and the result of subject evaluation.
STEP 2: Pay the application fee at the Treasury Office (TO).
STEP 3: Present official receipt of payment to ADO and secure test permit and admissions kit.
STEP 4: Take the MCL Senior High School Diagnostic Exam (MSDE) on the scheduled date. Examinees are advised to arrive 30 minutes earlier for an orientation, and to present their test permit to the proctor.

Tuesdays and Thursdays: 1:00 PM
Saturdays: 7:30 AM and 12:30PM

Applicants are advised to submit their requirements for admission at least one (1) hour before the exam starts on their preferred date to take the MCL Senior High School Diagnostic Exam (MSDE).

ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS

We would like to remind the enrollee to prepare the list of requirements below. We have designated areas for the parents to stay while waiting for the enrollee as we encourage them to process their enrollment independently.

1. Learner Reference Number (as indicated in the school ID or report card or diploma)
2. Original Grade 10 or 11 report card showing applicant’s eligibility for admission to Senior High School, duly signed by the High School Principal.

Reminders:
    2.1 The principal/adviser must countersign the report card if it has erasures or alterations
    2.2 The applicant must submit a certificate of the school’s numerical equivalent if the report card contains alpha grades
    2.3 The applicant must submit an authenticated report card if he/she graduated from an international school
3. Recent certificate of Good Moral Character (issued year of completion) from the High School Principal with school seal
4. Photocopy of PSA birth certificate (original must be presented for verification)
    4.1 if the applicant is not a Filipino citizen, submit
        4.1.1 Original and photocopy of passport with at least 6-month validity;
        4.1.2 Alien Certificate of Registration;
        4.1.3 Student visa or student study permit
    4.2 It the applicant has dual citizenship, submit
        4.2.1 Certificate of recognition as Filipino citizen or Philippine Passport;
        4.2.2 Authenticated Birth Certificate
5. Two pieces 1 ½ ” x 1 ½ ” recent identical pictures with white background and name at the back

FOR VOUCHER VALIDITY AND REDEMPTION

1. Photocopy of PSA birth certificate
2. Photocopy of Certificate of Junior High School Completion
3. Photocopy of Good Moral Character Certificate
4. For students who graduated from a Public School - Photocopy of Grade 10 report card (with Learner Reference Number (LRN)
5. For ESC Grantees - ESC Certification Letter from Junior High School Principal (format available through the ESC IMS)
6. For Qualified Voucher Applicants - QVR Certificate

GUIDELINES FOR ID PICTURE-CAPTURING

ID picture-capturing will be done during enrollment in MCL. These guidelines will be implemented in picture-capturing for the official MCL ID.

a. Eyeglasses must be removed.
b. Contact lenses may be worn, but contact lenses that change one’s true eye color must be removed.
c. Both ears should be visible.
d. Earrings must be removed.
e. Hair accessories must be removed.
f. Students must wear a collared shirt or blouse. If the student is wearing an un-collared shirt or blouse, then a coat or blazer must be worn over it. Girls must not wear attires with plunging necklines.
g. No hats or head coverings must be worn, except for religious purposes. A Muslim student may wear a hijab and not show her ears, but her face should be wholly visible for identification. The head covering must not cover the eyebrows and eyes.

Senior High School

E. T. YUCHENGCO INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

The E.T. Yuchengco Institutional Scholarship is for incoming Grade 11 students who belong to the Top 10 performing MCL Senior High School Diagnostic Exam (MSDE) takers from October to April of the current school year.

Benefits:
• Free full tuition, L/F/D, and miscellaneous fees
• Learning materials worth P2, 000 per term


Requirements for Initial Application:
• Application Form for Scholarship
• Scholarship Validation Form
Requirements for Renewal Application:
• Final Grade Report for the previous term
• Scholarship Validation Form


To retain the scholarship: Scholars must obtain at least a minimum Term Weighted Average of 90% at the end of the previous term, pass all curriculum-required enrolled units for the previous term, remain in his/her track-strand, and have no disciplinary action or pending disciplinary case.


MCL WIZARD ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP (SHS)

Selected for their potential to excel academically, recipients of the MCL Wizard Entrance Scholarship for SHS are incoming Grade 11 students who belong to the top performing MCL Senior High School Diagnostic Exam (MSDE) takers from October to April of the current school year, and are determined after the selection of the 10 E.T. Yuchengco Institutional Scholarship recipients.

Benefits:
• 25%-50% tuition and L/F/D scholarship for 1 Term

Requirements for Application:
• Application Form for Scholarship
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action or pending disciplinary case.

ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

For Boys

The MCL Athletic Scholarship is awarded to incoming Grade 11 and current male Senior High School students qualified and selected for their potential to bring prestige, honor, and glory to MCL as sports ambassadors and as role models of excellence and virtue through the following sports: basketball, football, baseball, and volleyball.

To qualify, an applicant must pass the MCL Senior High School Diagnostic Exam and perform well in the tryouts organized and conducted by the sports coaches.


Benefits:
• 25%-100% tuition and L/F/D fees discount per term
• Free sports uniform
• Free meal allowance and transportation during tournament games

Requirements for Initial Application:
• Tryout/Selection Training
• Application Form for Scholarship
• Scholarship Validation Form

Requirements for Renewal Application:
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: The students must obtain a units passed percentage (UPP) of 80% (for Grade 11) or 100% (for Grade 12) in all enrolled courses during the immediately preceding regular term; be in the list of students recommended for athletic scholarship by the SHS coach for his sport; and have no adverse disciplinary record.

For Girls


The MCL Athletic Scholarship is awarded to incoming Grade 11 and current female Senior High School students qualified and selected for their potential to bring prestige, honor, and glory to MCL as sports ambassadors and as role models of excellence and virtue through the sport of volleyball.

YGC PROMOTIONAL DISCOUNT

To qualify for the YGC Promotional Discount, a student must have a parent who has been verified and certified to be currently a regular employee of a YGC member company.


Benefits:
• 25% tuition fee and L/F/D discounts per term
Requirements for Application:
• Duly accomplished Application Form for YGC Promotional Discount
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action imposed for a major offense during the term.


MCL STUDY AID

To qualify for the MCL Study Aid, a student must have a parent who has been verified and certified to be currently a regular employee of MCL.


Benefits:
• 50% tuition fee and L/F/D discounts per term
Requirements for Application:
• Duly accomplished Application Form for MCL Study Aid
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action imposed for a major offense during the term.


SIBLING DISCOUNT

To qualify for the Sibling Discount, an MCL student must be verified to be a younger sibling of another student currently enrolled at MCL.


Benefits:
• First sibling – 10% tuition fee discount
• Second sibling – 25% tuition fee discount
• Third sibling – 40% tuition fee discount

Note: A student cannot apply for a sibling discount if he or she already enjoys another MCL-sponsored scholarship or discount.

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action imposed for a major offense during the term.


MCL CUP SCHOLARSHIP

Winners of selected events of the annual MCL Cup qualify for the MCL Cup Scholarship.

The terms and conditions of the scholarship benefits are stipulated in the MCL Cup Scholarship Certificate.
Requirements for Application:

• Duly accomplished Application Form for Scholarship (for first time applicants)
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action imposed for a major offense during the term.


ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT INCENTIVE

The Academic Achievement Incentive is given to MCL Senior High School students who belong to the top 10% of their strand and achieved a minimum TWA of 90 in the previous regular term.


Benefits:
• 50% tuition fee discount for the upper half of the top 10%
• 25% tuition fee discount for the rest of the qualifiers
Requirements for Application:
• Duly accomplished Application Form for Scholarship (for first time applicants)
• Scholarship Validation Form

To retain the scholarship: Recipients must have no disciplinary action imposed for a major offense during the term. Students with disciplinary record for any major offense are disqualified for the scholarship.

NOTE: Scholarships/financial aids are validated during the enrollment period for the coming term with the Center for Scholarships and Financial Assistance of the Student Affairs Office. No scholarships/discounts shall be applied in case the qualified student fails to have his/her scholarship validated during the announced scholarship validation period.
