CHRISTMAS LANTERN CONTEST

Meanwhile, the same Literature and Creative Arts classes under Prof. Recillo launched a Lantern-making Contest last November 26, 2007. The 14 entries to the contest were put up on the same day and were viewed until the end of the Christmas Season. The contest coincided with the arts exhibit and so it became an extension of the said activity. Thus, aside from celebrating and commemorating the birth of Jesus, the competition also turned out to be an art display as well. Most of the lanterns were made from native materials and featured symbolisms of the Season.... (full story)

CELEBRATING CHRISTMAS THE WIZARDS' WAY

Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of our Creator, show how much we treasure our loved ones, and share the Christmas spirit with friends. MCL CELEBRATES YULE SEASON

The entire community of Malayan Colleges Laguna celebrated the Christmas Season with colorful and fun-filled presentations of the different clusters last 14 December 2007 from 12:30 – 5:00 p.m. at the Multi-Purpose Room at the 5th Floor of the Jose Rizal Hall. Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea, President of MCL, graced the affair together with all the other administrators and gave his Yuletide message to everyone.... (full story)

LES BEAUX ARTS: A SHOWCASE OF MCL TALENTS

A week-long exhibit of photography, literature, and visual and digital arts dubbed as “Les Beaux Arts” was held last 3 -7 December 2007 at the lobby of the E.T. Yuchengco Hall of Malayan Colleges Laguna. The activity was a collaborative effort of all the Literature and Creative Arts classes, the Digital Photography classes and the Masque Carnival organization. The exhibit served as the final examination of the students in the said classes and featured the paintings, sculptures, architectural pieces, and photographs made by the students.... (full story)

THE SISTERS OF MARY SCHOOL DECLARED OVER-ALL WINNER OF THE MCL CUP 2007

It was expected that The Sisters of Mary School (Boystown) would capture the Over-All Title as their students ripped one award after the other in the weeklong contests of the MCL CUP 2007. They won first place in the Math Wizard Competition and the Choir Competition, ranked second place in the Cheerdance Competition, and placed third in the Science Wizard Competition and Spelling Quiz Bee. All in all, the school placed in the five of the seven events of the MCL CUP 2007.... (full story)
